friday not so fun #13

First off, I am dedicating everything I do today to my dear Stephie, who passed away unexpectedly 4 years ago today. Just in case she can hear me...

Hey munchkin, I can't believe you've been gone for four years, I was just thinking of you the other day. I swear, sometimes I can see you smile in other people - it kind of freaks me out but it's cool too. Your little guy isn't so little anymore. I bet that he would be almost as tall as you already! Your mom is holding up pretty good these days, she's slowly getting happy again. Lil man keeps her going and your uncle is taking her out today. We email back and forth a lot, she still sends those chain letters and I delete most of them, unless it's an angel, which reminds us all of you. Things are different without you but I know you're enjoying the show. We all miss you girl...

Okay folks, now on to the happy stuff. She wouldn't want me to be mopey today.

I'm getting married in 364 days. Whoa. Now I can really time to start planning the big day, not just pretend plan.

I've had a pretty lame week. It's been all cold so I've stayed home just about every night and gotten in my pj's early and eaten yummy soups that make my heart happy and snuggled with Pedroski. I had to turn on the heater last night. I swear, if I didn't know better - I would have thought it was going to snow. You know that eerie stillness that happens when it's going to snow? That's what it was like outside last night.

It's going to be a fun weekend. T and I are dressing up as Mario and Luigi for a Halloween party and then we'll probably go out afterwards. It's definitely going to be a cozy, snuggle on the couch type of weekend.

Here's our Friday Fun, from Friday Fill-in.

1. The last good thing that came in the mail was a sample of crème brulée coffee from Walmart.

2. This week I'm grateful for Fall weather, football, and sweatshirts.

3. Fried macaroni and cheese is the most delicious thing ever.

4. My beloved fiancée inspires me.

5. I'm most happy when I am eating or sleeping.

6. And all the roads we have to walk along are never lined with money.

7. As for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to going downtown, tomorrow my plans include baking a skullie cake and go to a Halloween party. Sunday, I want to watch football, eat meatloaf, and snuggle with my baby.

wonderful

You know it's not a good start to the day when you can't sleep until the alarm goes off and you get to work and there's no coffee... It's gotten better already thanks to the receptionist's hubby. He loves us so much that he brought the two of us coffee. Yeah Gumdrops!

I had the greatest weekend!!! And I'm so excited to share it.

Friday afternoon was more wedding dress shopping. I think I found IT but I have to go back with my MOH and see if she feels it as much as I do. IT was fabuloso. IT was made for Tara. Love IT.

My dad, his g-friend, and Toddles showed up later that evening. I had plans to make this pasta from the Pioneer Woman. Would you believe that I went to three grocery stores trying to find f&^king basil and still didn't get some! I know I should have my own growing but sheesh, you would think that you could find freakin basil. So anyhow, I made the pasta, minus the basil and my dad brought a bottle of wine. We ate and drank and drank and played video poker. It was a wonderful night! Oh, I made an apple crisp with ice cream too. I'm goooood.

We got up Saturday morning and went to show dad and Y the lodge for the wedding. They both loved it! We went to the casino after that. My lucky ass father won $250 in 30 minutes. Turd. It was time for the fair shortly after that. You would think that since they tore down Bell's that there would be more parking but there wasn't. I finally found a spot to make my own row and we set off to find some yummy lunch. I knew I was having a corndog first and it was just what I was craving, Dad and Y got one too. We walked around and ate some more junk, I had fried pickles, T had a steak sammich and some roasted corn, and Dad had a gyro. After we were stuffed Dad wanted to walk by the newest extreme ride, the SkyScraper. Boy oh boy. Bad idea after fried anything. He talked me into riding it with him. It is 165 feet tall, has two sets of seats on the end of this giant pendulum looking thing and it spins you around in gigantic circles and pulls 4 g's. It was freakin awesome until we stopped at the top and it was swaying. You could feel the dirty carnies pulling on the harnesses of the next riders below us. It was a rush and I'm glad I did it. Totally effing rad. I'm sure it beats that stupid slingshot thingy too. After that we were all tuckered out so we headed home. We grilled some brats and potatoes for dinner, played poker with our friends, and hung out. It was a perfect day!

Sunday, Dad and Y headed out. He is heading back to Cali today. Sigh. But he'll be back for Turkey Day in what, 9 weeks or something. Shit. No even going there.

We had plans to go see T's mom and that side of the family. I protested but he made me go. I wanted to lie on the couch all day and watch football and eat queso. She made his favorite dinner and we all sat around and played with the niece and nephew and the guys played horseshoes. The kiddos are so dang cute! We hung out there all day and a storm rolled in, which we could see great because she lives about 20 minutes outside of town. Me, T, his mom, and her b-friend all went to Chili's for dinner. I love their silly chicken crisper things. I hate to admit it but I ate all of them last night and didn't touch my broccoli and had just a few of my fries. Mmmmm... fatso.

T stayed in town because I was being whiney. We went home and rubbed each other's feet and watched the end of football and talked. It was the second perfect day in a row! I'm so lucky! Now if I can get him to wake up and take me to lunch before he heads back to the Lou I think I could die. Not really but I'd be super happy.

Happy Monday. :)

You know...

I enjoy playing poker and I enjoy my ladies group, but for goodness sake, I hate losing.

Last night we had the biggest group since we started and it was the biggest cluster f#$k ever. Oh. My. Gosh. I was trying to get drunk but it wasn't happening fast enough.

A lil shout-out to B&C, congrats on the baby girl. She will be one lucky girl!!! When do we get to paint the room blush?!?!!?!

Guess what?

Yepper, you guessed it! The wet stuff is back. My darling SIL just sent me this pic... If I could really find them, I would totally wear them as a fashion statement.

Annnnd.... I am officially diagnosing myself my sun poisoning. I looked it up and I have the same awful red spots associated with over exposure to the sun. No wonder my burn hasn't faded yet. D'oh! My face peeled but the rest of my body is still scathing red.

Case of the Mondays...

The reason I'm blah could be because my sweetheart is all snuggled up in my bed, snoozing away while I'm sitting at work trying to keep my eyes open. Could be the disgusting, gloomy clouds that keep rolling by my window.

We had a super weekend. Friday night was poker night with The Gang. Toddles almost won but he got beat by his dad. We went to a couple of places afterwards and ended up closing down a bar near my house. Saturday was funny, we both wanted to go do something indoors but we couldn't agree so we went and had a late breakfast and lounged around the house all day. I love those kind of days and we normally reserve them for Sunday, but since we had plans with his dad it was nice to still get it on our short visit. We both thought we were going to be miserable at the horse races that night but it turned out to be the most perfect evening, for June in Oklahoma anyhow. We didn’t have much luck until the last two races we bet on, I kept telling T that I wasn’t going to touch the money because I have bad mojo when it comes to gambling, so he was making the bets for me. I picked the winners of the last two races and we almost covered our losses for the night. I think we spent more on booze than horses, but man, they make a killer Crown and Coke at the track. We tried to go to Santino’s later that evening but it was packed a-holes to elbows so we didn’t stay. We ended up at the Depot like normal and we stayed until the cops decided to raid the bar, which is never pleasant. I guess they were checking the tax tags on all of the machines and the liquor licenses, I’ve never seen that bar clear out so fast at 1:30 a.m. on a Saturday night. I thought it was funny to watch everyone scramble outside, as they don’t know you’re safer inside, can’t get a DUI if you’re not driving. Duh peeps.

Sunday was another relaxing day. We headed to T’s dad’s house for lunch and the race. We ended up staying over there all day and they went to buy a new tv. I helped his stepmom clean up the house while they were gone. I really missed my daddy that day, it sucked being away from him on “his” day but Toddles’ dad makes a good back up. They’re so good to me and treat me like one of their own. We stayed over there long enough to take them to dinner since they got the pizza for lunch. We went to Chili’s and it was delish! I love those damn chicken crispers but they are so bad for me. After we ate dinner we met S&S for a drink and stayed until the second showing of Entourage came on, then we went to watch that.

It was really a nice weekend. We didn’t talk about moving but I’m thinking that will happen when I’m in the Lou visiting this next weekend. We were so lovey all weekend, it felt good to have my boyfriend and best friend around. I love that guy so much it makes me crazy, but in a good way, ya know? I bet the next 4 days go so slowly.

I'd like to give a shout out to my Pops, even though he doesn't have the internet or really know how to use it, maybe this will get to him in spirit. Thanks for always being the number one man in my life, you're always there when I need you - whether it's to talk or just listen, or to knock some sense into me. I'm glad you're my friend and my hero - my life would be so different if you hadn't made big choices to stick around and raise us. You did a fine job! I love you Daddy!

Pass the tissue, I'm such a baby.

Got boat?

We might all need one by the end of the week... Yet another reason to love Oklahoma - torrential rainstorms for the entire month of May. It makes Green Country beautiful but it makes me blue.

Today I woke up and really wanted to stay in bed. My honey was there. It was dark and rainy. How much more perfect could it be? I had to ruin it by getting up and going to work. I would have called in but they're on my ass this week. Yeah – another reason to be happy to get out of bed. I really wanted to call in a quit and pack all of my stuff and move to the Lou with T. Really. Badly. I don't know that I've ever wanted to be with him as much as I do right now. I always want to be with him, but after this weekend, my heart is sad that we aren’t going to be together the rest of the week. We got a taste of what it’s like to be a normal couple and it was muy fabulouso!

Friday night was nothing special, we just hung out with some friends. Saturday morning we got up and tinkered around the house, he fixed the surround sound, I fixed sandwiches. He moved things in the spare room, I vacuumed. We jogged together. We cleaned together. We got ready for the evening together. It was glorious. We watched the Derby with C&C and then had dinner at Mexico Lindo. Mmm - that is my absolute favorite Mexican dojo. That night we went to a party to celebrate Cinco de Mayo and watch the de la Hoya/Mayweather fight. It was nice and relaxing and fun all in one.

Sunday was my favorite day this weekend, except that I woke up in a supremely foul mood. I was just grumpy and I still do not know why. We watched the race and ate greasy food and laid on the couch all day. I cried and got rid of my bad mood, it really sucks being a woman sometimes. We women do that crying thing on occasion, it makes everything better, and I honestly think only God knows why. My sweetie was confused and bless his heart - he tried to make me better - but there was nothing to do but let me get it out. So I did and I knew I’d be laughing when it was over and I did that too. Crazy. Toddles decided to stay another night so we tackled my jungle of a backyard together. People take for granted things like doing yard work together. It sounds funny but we had the best time mowing. My other favorite part of the weekend was when we got home from dinner and visiting a friend. It was a perfect night out so we opened the back door, lit the tikis and candles, cracked a couple of beers, and put some Billie Holiday on the record player. It was amazing... What a way to end a weekend.

So yeah, that is why I want to be with my honey right now. I want this stuff every day for the rest of my life. I want the chance to do things together. I want to kiss his head before I leave for work and when I get home. I want to get all dirty and sweaty and feel that sense of accomplishment with him. I want to be lazy or productive or sad or happy with him. I just want us to be...

Yep, I'm whiney today. Watch out.

Ugh...

You must love Oklahoma weather in the Spring when everything is turning colors, the flowers are blooming, and the trees are pollinating - making everyone and their dog sick and miserable. Actually, I don't know that it's allergies - it's the fact that it SNOWED on Friday and it'll be back up to 70 degrees by the weekend. My eyes are juicy, my head is heavy, and I cannot quit coughing.

I hate being sick.

Thanks for the echinachea Bananie... I think it's too late. I want some Nyquil and baked potato soup - any delivery offers?
