I will be married.
I wish I could describe what happens in my head when I say that, it's like a comic book fight with words, but better.
Amazing actually.
We had a really great weekend. Friday night was spent mostly at home and ended at our BFF's house over several beers and a domestic dispute between the neighbors. That is always fun as long as no one gets hurt.
Saturday was an especially fun day. All of my girlfriends have been wanting to help me with something for the wedding. I had a designated craft day for all of us and we got a ton of stuff made. We did all of my centerpieces, table runners, my birdcage veil, the card box, and a few other crafts. My centerpieces turned out awesome! I'm having individual cakes at each table as the centerpiece and we had to make "stands" for them. I got the clever idea to take two grapevine wreaths and stack them. Todd and I made 100 teeny felt bows and four of them go on each stand. The girls wired them all together and glued the bows and plates on. They look so awesome! I really love the whole homemade, warm look we have going for the big day.
Saturday night was a doozy. We had a(nother) big poker party, this time for T's step-sister. We had 24 players and my baby won the whole thing! It was a nice party, until the tequilla came out and then things get fuzzy. All I know is that I woke up Sunday afternoon feeling like I had been run over. I was sick, sick, sick. Honestly, I have no idea how I played soccer two hours after I woke up, but I did. How's that for commitment? I was actually with it enough to take two awesome shots, one that was with my left foot and the other went in the keeper's face, hard. Shortly after my game, Toddles had a hockey game and they lost pretty bad. Oh! I didn't mention that last week he got a hat trick... He scored two shots and took an awesome penalty shot. I love watching him play. Anyhow, after all of that last night I made an awesome dinner and we watched the newest Harold and Kumar movie.
I'm recovered today but I slept too much yesterday. I think I'm going on two hours from last night. Ah well, second cup of coffee is on it's way down.
Nephew update before I forget. Little Wyatt was born on 8/20 at 2:55 - just in time for his Mimi, Aunt T, and Uncle Tyler to get there! He is beautiful and amazing and perfect. It is beyond awesome to watch my little brother as a father. He's a natural. When he gets down close to the baby and talks, Wyatt goes nuts because he knows Trev's voice. We are all so in love with him already! Last I heard, my friend was still waiting to have her little guy, her doctor isn't as nice as my SIL's.
Peace out and happy Monday!

a little more uplifting... (and my 100th post)
Sorry about that last post. I was sad and mad and all kinds of other things. Anyway, happy 100th post to me!
It's St. Patrick's Day - normally one of my favorite days of the year but I'm not too excited about it today. Perhaps because it's Monday and I'm finally recovered from Saturday night and my honey won't be here to celebrate it with me. It will get better I'm sure. BFF and I are going out for some green beer tonight so it will liven up.
He finally got that dang interview! After 3 weeks and 9 phone calls he passed the phase I interview and they're moving onto phase II. I still have a good feeling about it because the guy is persistent, even if it's only at procrastinating.
We had a fab weekend. Mostly anyhow... Friday night I colored my hair, caught up on my shows, and slept, which was nice. T came in late and made me get up and go hang out with some friends and I was not happy about it but that's what you do when you love someone. We had big plans on Saturday but they got delayed because we never want to leave my room. When we finally did, we went to the car show and walked around for a few hours. I picked out a new dream car - the Lexus IS F. Holy crapballs that thing is amazing. It's only a mere 56K, T is going to work on getting that for me. I wish... We tried to win the powerball this weekend to offset the need for a car that expensive but I don't think it happened.
We really did pick out a new car for his mom at the car show. She's been looking for one for a bit and I hope she finally made her mind up to get a G35, which I would also take should someone want to buy me one. See, we've had this debate going on for a long time. His mom really doesn't stand up for herself when it comes to her opinion, even when it comes to buying cars. So, T's brother has been trying to get her to buy a Corvette for like a year because the little brat butt wants to "buy" it from her later. Toddles and I are looking out for her and realize that she works hard and deserves something more luxe, hence the push for the G, which she loves because of the sportiness and luxury. So then she has this new boyfriend who only buys Chevy vehicles and is messing up the mix, trying to get her into a Chevy car, which are complete pieces of dookie (Impala) and unreasonable (Vette). After the car show and long talks, I think she finally listened to the good son and is going for the G. Gosh, if she only realized we're really looking out for her.
Moving right along... We did the car show thing and worked up an appetite for the BBQ place we've been meaning to try out as one of the options for the wedding caterers. I think we decided against that particular one because they didn't have enough meat options. It was tasty, and some of the best hot links I've eaten but the chicken had bones and there was no turkey or pulled pork options. Gotsta have pulled pork when you're eating BBQ.
Sunday was a beautiful day and we went to soccer game after we recovered from the 3:30 a.m. party the night before. I watched my friend's baby fall on the bleachers and bust his teeth through his lip, poor guy. Baby mouths make a lot of blood, it's really kind of amazing. I was just happy he didn't lose a tooth. This one is seriously going to try to knock them all out before kindergarten - this is the second incident already and he's not even 2 yet. After we got the tyke cleaned up and his dad's team won the game we all got some take out for dinner and played with the kids until it was their bedtime.
Once again, I'm at work and Toddles is at the house, sleeping. It really sucks having to leave him when he's asleep but then he can't make me all sad and weepy. Hopefully he'll get up in time to take me to lunch before he hits the road.
7 months and 13 days until we get hitched. I've got lots to do on that this week. Florists, DJs, and passports, oh my!
Enjoy your St. Pat's day!

pass the puffs
I am finally back to work and near a computer after suffering from 3 days of fever, coughing, and an awful runny nose. Seems that I caught what T's roomies all had and brought it back to Oklahoma with me after our ski trip.
We had a wonderful time over the weekend. We got to St. Louis early in the evening, all thankful that the roads weren't bad from all the snow. After getting everyone to their hotel rooms and me delivered to my honey, it was time to get dolled up and head to the casino. We had a great time, actually the best time I've ever had in a casino. We all split up - boys and girls. Wanna know what the best part was? My drink of choice - Crown Royal - was only $2.50. Fabulous. Needless to say, the girls and I got pretty tanked. We were having fun, flirting with old men on the craps tables, C&C playing roulette, and really putting the drinks down. We met up with the boys and decided to try out the new nightclub, girls only again because they weren't in the dancing mood. We danced our buzzes off and had a blast! Everyone decided to call it a night and we headed to Awful House to ward off nasty hangovers for our skiing adventure the next day.
Saturday we all woke up, feeling fine and pretty pumped for the day ahead. It took awhile to get on the slopes but once we did it was fun. It was a perfect day for skiing, we even got hot in our heavy coats. Toddles was worried about my skiing abilities since we had never skied together. We got to the run we were going to try first and I took off. Next thing I know he's behind me saying "slow down" and I'm like "nooooooo" because I knew what I was doing. I proved myself...
It was a really good time. We spent all day skiing until things started getting messy and we were worn out. I only fell one time and it was my first time on a black run. Oh, and I about got knocked out by the lift because of some punk ass kid. I ended up with two bruises the size of baseballs but at least I didn't hit my head.
That night we all went to dinner with T's roomies and their kid. I finally got the prime rib I'd been craving for a month. We went to this nice little Irish pub (not with the kid) for a bit but everyone wanted to call it a night because we were exhausted.
I woke up Sunday feeling like shit. It's really a great way to travel. Can't breathe, can't sleep, just lovely, and I swear that everytime I go up there, I get sick. We got home and I went straight to bed with a nasty fever, which brings us to now - three days later and I finally feel a little better. The only reason I'm at work is because it's Bosslady/aunt's 10 year anniversary. I'm so outta here after lunch.
Do you think everyone's sick because it was like 75* on Sunday and then it's freakin snowy again today? Gotta love my Oklahoma.

oh marie
Two words...
bacon
quiche
A rep brought us breakfast today from Marie Callender's and it was fantabulous. Bacon, spinach, and lots of gooey cheese is certainly the way I'd like to start everyday. That and big beautiful snowflakes are starting to fall so I'm really happy.
The gang and I are going skiing this weekend outside of St. Louis. We're all pretty excited - especially since there's going to be new *real* snow.
Must get back to my baaaacoooon.

accomplishment.
Woohoo! The big weekend is over and we got so much finished. Here's the play by play:
Wednesday - I finished packing. I got this OCD thing going for this move and was super organized throughout the entire move. Everything was boxed, labeled, and ready to go when T arrived that night.
Thursday - Thanksgiving. We spent the day in OKC with my fam, had dinner, and were home by 8:00. It was our only scheduled day off for the whole weekend. Dinner was nice, my family was being a little odd but it was still a nice holiday.
Friday - Move my room. Toddles and I got up at a decent time and prepared for the day. I was hyper, crazy lady when I woke up from all of the excitement. T wasn't really ready for all that until I got him his fav McD's breakfast. We moved all of my room into his Dad's house in two trips. His stepmom's family was there so they helped us unload some of the stuff. We got everything put together and sleepable by the time dinner was ready at 4:00. We stuffed our faces and played poker that night. We also made it to Target to get some more things for my room.
Saturday - Ugh... We're tired by this day. We got around and made it to the old house to move all of my boxes. It was cold and we both wanted to be cozied up in bed. We got everything loaded into two cars and made it to the storage unit in no time. Unloaded and it was time to go to his brother's for another family meal. We grabbed some pizza and watched the OU/OSU game. After that it was time to hang with all of our friends. We drank our aches and pains away and called it a night after a few too many drinks.
Sunday - Oops. T has a nasty hangover. I feel fine but I do NOT want to get out of bed. We wake up late and our helper is already calling. I tell him we need another hour. Thank God he's such a nice guy. We meet up at the house, move the big stuff - W/D, fridge, couch, etc to storage. Get done. Go eat. Go sleep. We were so tired that we slept for 3 hours yesterday. I think it all caught up with us.
Now all I have to do is clean out the house and I'm finished. It feels so good to have had such a stress-free move. T said it's because I rock and had everything ready to go. I couldn't agree more.
I've been happier this past week than I have in a long time. I truly believe it's because I got rid of all the bad shit in my life and I am preparing for a fresh start with my Beloved. I feel clean, refreshed, and organized for once. It is amazing!
Oh, the wedding countdown is 10 months, 29 days. Yikes!
Hope everyone had a really nice Thanksgiving. Get any shopping done?

today is...
World Food Day

Read about it here.
And I'm bored so I'm going to tell you alllll about my weekend.
Friday night my honey bunny surprised me and showed up in town. We went out and got a little shitty and stayed up too late doing silly things that are our little secret. No really, I'm not telling you.
Saturday T and I went ottoman shopping at 5 different stores and didn't find crap. We found one online that we're going to order that was pretty much what we wanted. It's so cool that we have the same taste and style - it makes life a lot easier - we both like simple and contemporary so there aren't any arguments over floral pillows and Oriental rugs. My bro and his gfriend showed up Saturday night in time for our friendly poker game with The Gang. I thought T was going to do well but he ended up going out at 4th place. The four of us went out after that and got hooked up at The Bar (clever name, huh). We went to an after party and stayed out way too late again. I felt like a high-schooler crashing someone's house. Fun stuff.
Sunday was fun day. Me, Ty, and Mags went to the grocery store to get stuff for a big lunch. Ty talked me out of making meatloaf, which I had been craving for two weeks, and into grilling steaks. They turned out great, had some mac & cheese, grilled squash & potatoes, and green beans. It was a ton of food!!! My little bro has turned into quite the grillmeister. I guess that's what happens when you're unemployed for 2 years and watch Food Network everyday. We watched football all day and hung out. Ty and Mags went to the Down concert, I declined, not my type of musica. Toddles had to go back home and I cried about it. He's been staying an extra day so I felt cheated this weekend. I sat down with a book and enjoyed my evening and made eggs for dinner. Comfort.
I went to watch football last night since I'm a lame-o and don't have cable. Have I mentioned that it pisses me off that Monday Night Football is only on ESPN? Well it does. It was the first time I've been out during the week in awhile. Okay, like two weeks but whatever. Went to Maloney's and it was actually nice. They remodeled and it was a lot better. I was nervous about running into Dickhead, the loser ex bf, but I was spared the drama. I drank beer all night and actually woke up feeling great today. That's because I didn't touch the Jaeger. See... I'm getting smarter with age. Jaeger makes the head pound and the tummy purge. Good to know since I'm being taken out again tonight.
Oh, I made an awesome dinner last night but that will be another post because I haven't downloaded my pics yet. It was a beautiful creation!
Yeah! Tuesday is 30 minutes from being over. Well, work over. But yeah!

Hey guys! I am so excited, I’ve been getting blog hits like crazy... It’s fun to watch the counter go! I got my first comment too... Thanks Love & Lipgloss! You made a girl feel special and your blog is super cute! Woohoo!
My honey came home at a decent hour on Friday, that was nice! We went out for drinks with C&B, bar-hopped a little. We couldn’t believe how dead the bars were because of all the festivals going on - there was Rocklahoma, Reggaefest, some Jazz fest, two car shows, and something else keeping everyone busy. If we weren’t so concerned with drinking, maybe we could have been smart and went to one of them. We had some delicious Waffle House at 4 a.m. after some games of foosball and darts at B’s house. Woowee, that stuff hurts the belly in the morning but there is something magical about their coffee, I think it cures all hangovers.
Saturday was Toddles’ brother’s graduation party. I woke up after 3 ½ hours of sleep with some intense itching from last weekend's sunburn and had to go to the store for some anti-itchy meds. It was awful but I finally got some relief and crawled back in bed until we had to be at the party. The party was fun, it was all of his family minus one step-sister and her ridiculous fiancĂ©, no love lost there (him, not her). We got to meet the other sister’s new boyfriend, he seemed nice enough. Everyone swam and ate and we got a big poker game going. Once again, I lost. T took 3rd place, which was nice because he got his buy-in back. His other SIL was hammered duckshit and kept us all in stitches the whole night. She must have drank a gallon of Crown. I bet she felt awful on Sunday morning. We stayed up late again, don’t think we got home until 3 a.m. or so, these long nights really kick my hiney and I feel drained on Mondays but I’m glad my sweetie and I get to spend it time together.
Sunday, Toddles had made plans for us to have lunch with B&C but neither of us were really in the mood to leave the house. We finally agreed to put our happy faces on and meet them at Fox & Hound for a bite. I’m not a huge fan of chain restaurants, but I love their Black Forrest sandwich. It’s a soft pretzel roll sliced in half, with turkey, bacon, swiss, lettuce, tomato, and honey mustard. I think it’s the pretzel and honey mustard that does it for me, so tasty! It gave me an idea to make mini-pretzels for my next ladies’ night, that’s going to be fun. After we ate, B&C talked us into coming over to play their new Wii. That little machine was pretty effin cool! I hadn’t seen one yet, who would’ve have though Nintendo would have come this far in the last 20 years. I still have my original Nintendo and games with the gun! Yes, nostalgic and dorky, all in one. Anyhow, we all took turns playing. That thing will wear you out! It was just as much fun watching as it was playing. B&C let us make our own Mii people and I told them we’ll have to get our own controllers so we can have Wii parties. I think they got it since C is pregnant and will be stuck in the house over the hot summer.
Oh, guess what?!?!?!!?!
It didn’t rain all freakin weekend! Hallelujah! It was hotter than hell but whatever. I’m such a nerd for being excited about the weather, but it’s because of T’s dad - he’s a meteorologist.
S&S went to Rocklahoma over the weekend. They wanted me to come but 80's hair bands just aren’t my cup of tea. I think they had fun. She finally got to meet her myspace boyfriend. Yeah, I know. Weird. I was a little disappointed that I didn’t get some cool concert panties, S is normally good about getting me a pair at every concert he goes to. Oh, and they made a CD, it’s lovely - S&S singing “The Ballad of Jayne” by the LA Guns. I can’t wait to get a copy of that... haha
Well, think that’s about it... Happy Tuesday peeps!
P.S. - Does anyone want to loan me their Sawzall? There are some morons working downstairs and it feels like they are going to cut through the floor any minute now. I want to start making noise back!
: )

You know...
I enjoy playing poker and I enjoy my ladies group, but for goodness sake, I hate losing.
Last night we had the biggest group since we started and it was the biggest cluster f#$k ever. Oh. My. Gosh. I was trying to get drunk but it wasn't happening fast enough.
A lil shout-out to B&C, congrats on the baby girl. She will be one lucky girl!!! When do we get to paint the room blush?!?!!?!
Guess what?
Yepper, you guessed it! The wet stuff is back. My darling SIL just sent me this pic... If I could really find them, I would totally wear them as a fashion statement.

Annnnd.... I am officially diagnosing myself my sun poisoning. I looked it up and I have the same awful red spots associated with over exposure to the sun. No wonder my burn hasn't faded yet. D'oh! My face peeled but the rest of my body is still scathing red.

Ouchie!
Well... we finally got a break from the rain, I think we actually got three days without any of the wet stuff. The 4th was a nice mid-week break, although it messed up the rest of the week. It felt like a mixed up Saturday or something.
My honey was here on Thursday night. We stayed up late watching episodes of Rescue Me on DVD before I had to make myself go to sleep. I got off work early on Friday and we got our things together for the lake. We made it to C&C's parent's lake house in time for dinner and the sunset. I wasn’t too pumped about going because I didn’t know if we’d be able to swim since the water is up so high and I had heard the debris was pretty bad. We hung out with The Gang on the deck that night, drank beer, played games, and watched the boats go by. We all crashed out pretty early, T and I got the luxury of sleeping in C&C’s new travel trailer. It was really nice!
Saturday was a hot one! We got up early (for us anyway) that morning and hung out around the house. We played with the kiddos and once they went down for naps, the adults headed down for some swim time. The guys stayed in the water most of the time and us ladies caught some rays. I caught waaaaay too many rays and ended up burnt to a crisp. As the day went on, I kept getting more and more red until it was evident that I would be in a good amount of pain because of my negligence of sunscreen. I kept saying, “I want to get burned” but I forgot how much it hurts. I had the chills by the end of the night and ended up wrapped in towels as we sat around that evening. I had a hard time falling asleep because I wasn’t in the mood to get drunk and when I laid down, it felt like I had pins and needles all over my body. We thought that C might have a sunburn too but he woke up with a 103 fever and realized that he had picked up whatever his wife and kids had that week. (Needless to say, I took double my normal vitamin C this morning!)
We came home early Sunday and went to breakfast. After we stuffed ourselves we headed home for nap time. I think we slept for about 4 hours! I think we were both drained from the sun and fireworks that kept us up.
It was a nice weekend, I’m always glad to get out of town for a few days.
Oh! We found out that we’re going to Montana in August. Thank gawd for Marlboro - otherwise we wouldn’t get much of a vacation this year. That is going to be a great week!!! I get to fly to the Lou, drive to Knoxville, OH for a weekend of dirt track racing, drive back to the Lou, and fly home that Sunday. Then I get to work for 2 days and it’s vacation time again! I fly out Wednesday for the Marlboro ranch in Montana and stay for four days. I’m getting so excited! This is going to be a long 5 weeks. I hear that it’s one of the best vacations ever!
Hope everyone had a great weekend too, guess it’s time for me to go re-apply the lotion and aloe because my skin is getting tingly again.

Case of the Mondays...
The reason I'm blah could be because my sweetheart is all snuggled up in my bed, snoozing away while I'm sitting at work trying to keep my eyes open. Could be the disgusting, gloomy clouds that keep rolling by my window.
We had a super weekend. Friday night was poker night with The Gang. Toddles almost won but he got beat by his dad. We went to a couple of places afterwards and ended up closing down a bar near my house. Saturday was funny, we both wanted to go do something indoors but we couldn't agree so we went and had a late breakfast and lounged around the house all day. I love those kind of days and we normally reserve them for Sunday, but since we had plans with his dad it was nice to still get it on our short visit. We both thought we were going to be miserable at the horse races that night but it turned out to be the most perfect evening, for June in Oklahoma anyhow. We didn’t have much luck until the last two races we bet on, I kept telling T that I wasn’t going to touch the money because I have bad mojo when it comes to gambling, so he was making the bets for me. I picked the winners of the last two races and we almost covered our losses for the night. I think we spent more on booze than horses, but man, they make a killer Crown and Coke at the track. We tried to go to Santino’s later that evening but it was packed a-holes to elbows so we didn’t stay. We ended up at the Depot like normal and we stayed until the cops decided to raid the bar, which is never pleasant. I guess they were checking the tax tags on all of the machines and the liquor licenses, I’ve never seen that bar clear out so fast at 1:30 a.m. on a Saturday night. I thought it was funny to watch everyone scramble outside, as they don’t know you’re safer inside, can’t get a DUI if you’re not driving. Duh peeps.
Sunday was another relaxing day. We headed to T’s dad’s house for lunch and the race. We ended up staying over there all day and they went to buy a new tv. I helped his stepmom clean up the house while they were gone. I really missed my daddy that day, it sucked being away from him on “his” day but Toddles’ dad makes a good back up. They’re so good to me and treat me like one of their own. We stayed over there long enough to take them to dinner since they got the pizza for lunch. We went to Chili’s and it was delish! I love those damn chicken crispers but they are so bad for me. After we ate dinner we met S&S for a drink and stayed until the second showing of Entourage came on, then we went to watch that.
It was really a nice weekend. We didn’t talk about moving but I’m thinking that will happen when I’m in the Lou visiting this next weekend. We were so lovey all weekend, it felt good to have my boyfriend and best friend around. I love that guy so much it makes me crazy, but in a good way, ya know? I bet the next 4 days go so slowly.
I'd like to give a shout out to my Pops, even though he doesn't have the internet or really know how to use it, maybe this will get to him in spirit. Thanks for always being the number one man in my life, you're always there when I need you - whether it's to talk or just listen, or to knock some sense into me. I'm glad you're my friend and my hero - my life would be so different if you hadn't made big choices to stick around and raise us. You did a fine job! I love you Daddy!
Pass the tissue, I'm such a baby.

Binge.
Since I’m always a little slow on Mondays, I guess I’ll do my weekend review on Tuesdays. I was still drunk when I woke up yesterday morning so there was no way I could recount the weekend’s events. I felt like hammered doggie doo when I finally sobered up. Those late-afternoon hangovers suck.
I had a wonderful weekend! Let’s see.... Friday started off at the Depot with Chad and Sean. We stayed for about an hour and then headed back to Sean’s so I could take a power nap. Billy showed up so we went and grabbed some sushi, it was delish like always - from Asahi. Oh man, I choked on one of the rolls and thought I was going to die at the sushi bar. Bad deal. After we ate we went back to Sean’s to meet up with Chad again and the four of us went to Santino’s to see Ass for a minute. The guys were dead set on going to Cloud 9 so I took them, being the nice friend that I am. I don’t mind it, $1 dances and they have liquor now so it’s okay. We got pretty tanked, I stayed out way too late.
Saturday, oh Saturday... It was the down time that I needed. I slept until about noon and I woke up craving pot roast. It was a mean craving so I decided to go try the new diner down from my house. It was nice and clean, you couldn’t hardly tell it was an old Taco Bell. They got my food to me super fast and I ate it so fast that I thought I was going to ralph. I finished most of it and went home to nap. I was tired, what can I say? I woke up around 3 and found out Sean was ditching our movie plans to go with someone else. Dick. So glad I’m “#1" like he says... I went for some retail therapy to find a swimsuit for Jules’ pool party on Sunday. I found a cute one-piece that covered my chubs, some shoes, a dress, and a really nice shirt. I went back home and finally showered, I was pretty gross. Got out of the shower and watched 3 hours of a HBO movie about the Tsunami. Sad stuff. C&C called, they wanted to go sit on the patio at Los Cabos so I joined them for a late supper. I don’t really care for Los Cabos, it’s almost like glorified Taco Bueno, but the atmosphere is good so whatever. After that we went the Depot and hung out for a bit. It was dead but I think that’s because Country Fever was in town. Yay. Let’s go sit in the rain and listen to people whine. Sorry, not a fan.
Sunday was the big pool party. I woke up still full from dinner so I skipped on the brunch plans we had to do at Jazmoz or whatever Bourbon Street CafĂ© is called now. I laid around and watched another movie until the lawn lady decided to mow my front yard, I couldn’t hear so I hopped in the shower. I got ready for the party and headed to the store to fill my cooler. Beeeeer... I made some killer mojitos and we all got our happy buzz on. It was a really fun day, I saw some peeps I hadn’t seen in awhile, got some sun on my white ass, and just hung out. It was hot and muggy so the pool felt nice. We ended up going to the bar in our suits and staying until 2:00, which was the cause of my drunkenness on Monday morning. Bad, bad girl. Oh well, I don’t have binges like that very often so it’s okay every now and again.
Ciao folks!

Tuesday (I was out yesterday)
Hey y'all! I've had an eventful past few days. Where to start??? Last Thursday after work, I decided it was sammich time so I went to Subway because I didn't have the right fixins at home. Got my grub and I was on my way out the door when my pinkie got caught on the door. I walked out, my pinkie stayed in... I screamed multiple obscenities as I made my way to the car and I figured I would shake it off as a little jam. Nope! I think that little sucker is broken! I splinted it myself and have been dealing with the throbs, it's getting a little better. Everyone keeps asking if I'm going to sue Subway, it's just a little pinkie... Not worth it!
Toddles came home that night. We joined some friends for a couple of drinks and had a good time. He got a case of the crazies when we got home and was being super silly. I love those times!
Friday, I had to actually work until 5:00. It sucked big time because I would have taken off had I not expected that we get off early like every other Friday. Todd and I had some down time, then went to Goldies for some yummy fried pickles, he got a burger, and I got the chicken club. It was pretty good stuff. Then we headed to the Treat house for a round of Hold 'Em... I really thought I was going to win. Got close but Chris and Court ended up chopping the pot.
Saturday was the biggest day of our weekend, it was the day of T's birthday party. I think we had about 30-35 people there, most played in the 2nd Annual Beer Pong Tournament. It was a lot of fun. Congrats to the winners! Everyone liked the cake I made, which was kind of like strawberry shortcake. Toddles didn't even get a piece of his own birthday cake. He had lots of beer though!
My honey wasn't feeling too hot on Sunday morning. We had a houseful of people and I made a quick brunch for everyone. Fried eggs, hashbrowns, orange danishes, and those dreaded little sausage links per Todd's request. It was nice hanging out my brothers and their ladies, as well as his cousin Kevin. I love having a houseful of people!
It was a really great weekend and he made it better by staying until Monday. Had our quick dinner date and it was time for T to go back to the Lou. *boohoo*
Here's the cake recipe!

Here's the cake recipe!
White Cake with StrawberriesFirst, preheat the oven according to the directions on the box and the pan you're using. Prepare your cake pans so the cake doesn't stick. I put a bit of oil in the pans and spread it thoroughly with a paper towel, making sure the entire pan is coated. Then, put 1-2 tbs. of sugar in the pan and shake it until the pan is completely dusted with sugar. It gives the cake a little crunchy coating. Mix the cake according to the box directions and pour it into your pans. Then pop it into the oven and set your timer. While the cake is baking prepare your strawberries. I slice them into about an 1/8th of and inch sized slices. I set two aside for the top of the cake. Slice them as you would normally but leave the tops intact so that you can fan them out. Let the cake cool down. Get your cake stand ready but cutting a piece of wax paper large enough to cover the cake stand into quarters. Place them on the cake stand before you set the first layer on it. Spread some of the icing on the first layer and then top with sliced strawberries. Add the second cake. Ice the sides of the cake first and then the top. Use it sparingly or you'll run out. Then I take the strawberries and place them around the top edge. Put the two fanned strawberries in the middle and voila! A masterpiece...
- 1 white cake mix
- 1 can whipped frosting
- 1 pint fresh strawberries
- 3 eggs
- 1/3 C oil, plus a couple tbs. for coating
- 1 C water
- sugar for dusting
This is what mine looked like after sitting for over an hour - note - don't add sugar to your strawberries or they will be juicy and won't stick.

Monday
I had a great weekend, what about you? Friday night's dinner with my friends was a success! I made the most awesome fried pickles that night, I'll have to share the recipe. We drank beer and wine and ate, it was fun. On Saturday, Mom and I drove to OKC. It was a nice visit, a little heartbreaking, but okay. My great-grandmother isn't doing so well, she didn't even recognize us this time. I miss talking to her so much... Had dinner with Grammy and visited my brothers. Sunday we went to church with the family and then out to the obligatory buffet luncheon after service was over. It was a nice message, I really enjoy listening to the pastor - he's always interesting. Plus there were babies sitting in front of me so I got to make faces the whole time.
The Gang got back from hunting yesterday afternoon. Toddles and Tim both got turkeys! I was so excited for T - it was his first bird. It sounds like everyone had a great time, I just don't know about having animal parts in my garage. I'll do it for my honey I guess. : )
Anywho, just another day so far - it's still early though. I've been at work since 6:45, had to drop T off at the airport this morning to catch an early flight. I'm going to be exhausted by the time 5:00 rolls around...
Here's that recipe!

YUMMY FRIED PICKLES
- 1 jar of dill pickle spears
- 1 egg
- 1/4 C milk
- dash of Louisiana hot sauce
